Memorial Day Weekend

Well I, like everyone else, am bummed to be back to work after my lovely 3 day weekend!  However, I only have to work 3 days this week and then I have another 3 day weekend....FULL of shopping in Canton, TX for First Monday Trade Days!  If you don't know what it is, google it and make your plans to attend! It's amazballs!!!

And now onto my weekend!

Friday night was spent having dinner with the in-laws then ran out to the Hard Rock to see my sister's family on their pitstop to Branson, MO!  I can't wait until we go at the end of June! YaY!!  We headed home around 9:30 to get ready for bed and pack for our overnight stay!

Saturday morning, we headed to OKC for a day full of baseball and catching up with friends!  It was a beautiful day to spend time seeing my brother-in-law as he worked the camera for the Big12 baseball tourny, of course we had to watch OU vs KState...Go KState!! haha  I kid I kid, no but really I have an extremely hard time rooting for the Cheaters Sooners!  So I just keep my mouth shut, as you all know my better half and his mom are OU Alum.  Atleast they graduated from there!

Then we headed to Stillwater to spend the night with Little C and Special K!  C was putting on my fake nails and needed help...such a diva I tell ya!

Sunday, we slept in and went to late church.  The message was very moving and I didn't have any eye makeup on when we left.  We are Oklahoma Strong!  Keep praying for the tornado victims and they start the clean-up process.  Then we headed to IHop and had some breakfast/lunch, then did some shopping.  Then we had a cookout at a friend's parents and headed home around 8:30p.

Monday, we got up and around.  I went to the store and got some food to take to the in-laws for their cookout and Nathan mowed our overgrown from rain lawn.  Finally, the house looks good again!  We ate and enjoyed family time, then home to tidy up the house and catch up on DVR!

Glorious weekend!

Hope you all had a blessed weekend!

Please lift Oklahoma up in your prayers!

As I am sure you have seen, Moore, OK took a very devastating hit from a F4/F5 tornado yesterday afternoon.  The aftermath is unreal and very heartbreaking.  An elementary school was hit hard and many children are missing still.  There is a blessing, over 100 people were rescued overnight and now on to a safe place.  Moore, OK was hit almost just as hard on May 3, 1999 and yesterday's tornado led almost the same path.  That is a very scary situation, some homes will be rebuilt that are only 14 years old.

Living in Oklahoma is a tough situation.  While I love being close to my family and friends, every spring we have to go through a very scary and destructive tornado season.  Oklahoma is a great state, full of caring people that will give you the shirt off their back if you need it, and that is what is so humbling about it.  The Big12 baseball tournment has been hosted in OKC since this weekend and the West Virigina team immediately tried to get to Moore to help with rescue, however, they were turned away.  Did they give up at that point? Nope, they drove to a Wal-Mart and loaded carts full of clothes for children and adults to donate.  Big hearts right there!

Lord, I ask you to lay your healing hands on every soul in Moore, whether they were injured or have loved ones and friends hurt.  We need your Grace during this time.  Give us the strength to recover and more on with our hearts so hurt.  We ask that the families of the Plaza Towers elementary school be loved on, those children were taken away too soon.  We ask that you give them peace and comfort to know that those kids are in your arms.

We will get through this and be stronger than ever!  Oklahoma is our HOME!

Be Blessed!

Mid May

Oh wow, I can't believe it is already the middle of May!!  Time sure flies when you are having fun when you are busy as heck!  We officially have every weekend in June booked, including 3 weekends away and Lion King and oh yeah our ONE YEAR Anniversary!  We decided to not go anywhere as it is Father's day weekend and we would like to see our parents, plus we wanted to do two other family planned trips the following two weekends.  To say we are excited about family vacays is an understatement.  We love spending time with everyone, and I truly love being busy on the weekends!

Work is crazy busy with me being the only accountant now.  I have been working late and barely taking lunches, but they are getting to hire another accountant, so hopefully that will help me out!  I plan to blog every couple days now, even if it is just silly things!  I promise!

Toodles!
